Transportation Project for Cayuga County
The Transportation Project for Cayuga County will utilize $13,500 in CDBG funding to support the services provided by the SCAT Van to the Community. The SCAT Van program is a specialized, demand-respond, door-to-door transportation program for the elderly and disabled citizens of Auburn who cannot access public transportation because of location or ability to access. The SCAT Vans are the only alternative transportation in the City and are essential to those who have no other means of transportation. This service averages over 9,000 riders per year in the City on over 17,000 one-way trips. CDBG funding for this program is targeted for the fuel and maintenance needed for the five (5) vans used in the City of Auburn.
Special Programming for Senior Aged Adults $4,500
Boyle Senior Center, Inc.
The Special Programming for Seniors at the Boyle Senior Center will be held at the Edward T. Boyle Senior Residence in downtown Auburn and will be open to all Seniors in the City of Auburn. The program, offers comprehensive Senior Services including health education and monitoring, counseling, learning opportunities, social and recreational activities and community services opportunities.
